A Love Letter

My Sweetest Husband,

Here we are. 5 months into this marriage and a whole year since we got engaged! It’s kind of a funny feeling, to be honest. On one hand it feels like I have known you forever, on the other, I can’t believe how fast these months went by.

God gave me such a precious gift when He gave me you. He gave me my permanent hand-holder and snuggler. He gave me my biggest encourager and my soft rebuker. He gave me my comfort and someone who pushes me out of my comfort zone. He gave me my rock and also my shoulder to cry on. That day, God gave me my dearest and closest friend.

These past five months of marriage have been such a blessing to me. I love going to sleep and waking up in the comfort of your arms every single day. I love those moments when I’m cooking or washing the dishes and you come up behind me just to hold me for a little while. I love it when we slow dance in our living room, twirling to no music because you know I like to dance. It feels like we’re the only two people in the whole world at that moment. I love that you still surprise me with flowers. I love that you tell me that you love me about a hundred times a day and I don’t doubt it a single time. I love that you initiate family reading time and that you’re always trying to get better at this. I love that no matter how hard I hurt you, you show me the love and patience I don’t always deserve. I love that you call me beautiful when I feel like it and you call me beautiful when I don’t feel beautiful at all. I love how hard you try to make me feel at home because you know how difficult this move has been for me. I love that I can always count on you to protect me and to always have my back no matter what. I love the way I catch you smiling at me like you have teenage crush and I don’t know about it. I love that you can be funny and goofy and still be able to take a heavy load off my heart. I love your heart, your mind, and your soul and I love how compatible it is with mine. I love that if I have a long day or bad day, I know a hug from you will make it all go away. I can’t believe how great it is to have you in my life.

I cannot wait to see how God will continue to use you in our marriage. If these past five months are a glimpse of what is ahead, then I cannot wait to see the rest. I said, “yes” to you a year ago and I will say “yes” to you again. You are my world, Nik Kotov, and I made the best decision committing my life and heart to you. I will continue to pray for you as you continue to lead me, as you lead our family. I love you so much and for so many more reasons than this letter outlines. You are my best decision.

                       Love,

Your Wife
